Plan My Full-Home BackupNo. A 200-amp gateway rating describes the service connection and pass-through capability; it does not mean the batteries continuously deliver 200 amps by themselves.

A properly engineered system can back up the full service panel and operate major loads such as central air conditioning, refrigeration, well pumps, lighting, outlets, and internet without reducing the home to a small emergency-load panel.
The gateway determines how the home is connected during an outage. The inverter and battery system determine how much power can be delivered at once and how long the home can sustain it.

Illinois Shines is the State of Illinois solar incentive program that supports qualifying distributed-generation and community-solar projects through the purchase of Renewable Energy Credits. For an eligible project, REC value can materially improve project economics and help reduce the effective cost of going solar.
No. Advanced Power USA is an independent Illinois solar and battery company. It is not part of, endorsed by, affiliated with, or acting on behalf of the Illinois Power Agency, Illinois Commerce Commission, State of Illinois, ComEd, or Illinois Shines.
A Renewable Energy Credit, or REC, represents the environmental attributes of renewable electricity generation. In an Illinois Shines project, the applicable REC rights are transferred under the program arrangement, and the incentive value helps strengthen the project economics for the customer.
For current residential and small-commercial projects, the ComEd distributed-generation rebate can provide $300 per kW of eligible solar capacity, and qualifying associated battery storage can receive a separate $300 per kWh of nameplate storage capacity. Commercial and industrial rebate levels are generally $250 per kW for generation and $250 per kWh for storage. Program participation carries specific interconnection, rate-plan, equipment, and storage-dispatch requirements. Advanced Power USA evaluates those requirements and uses the applicable rebate assumptions in the project proposal.

Qualifying battery storage can receive a ComEd rebate when paired with eligible distributed generation and enrolled under the applicable equipment, interconnection, rate-plan, and dispatch requirements. Solar still earns value for excess electricity exported to the grid, but the rules changed for new residential and small-commercial systems beginning January 1, 2025. New systems generally receive supply-only net-metering credits rather than the older full-retail credit structure. Customers therefore continue to pay applicable delivery charges on electricity pulled from the grid.
That change makes good system design and battery strategy more important—not less. No. The federal Residential Clean Energy Credit under Internal Revenue Code Section 25D ended for expenditures made after December 31, 2025.
That does not eliminate Illinois Shines REC value, applicable ComEd rebates, or the economics of reducing utility purchases. Commercial and business-owned projects operate under different federal tax provisions and should be evaluated under the current rules with the customer’s tax professional.
